Web Video Specifications


Client will need to provide ACTIN with any specifications required for the final video at the same time the FINAL script and assets are submitted. Any changes to web video specifications after the script approval may result in additional charges.

Default Video Specs:

If client does not specify a particular specification for delivery of their web video, ACTIN will use its best judgment to complete the project.

Size: 720px x 460px

Format: h.264 / .mp4

Requirement for Web Video Script

Final approved client script will need to be provided a minimum of 3 business days prior to the requested shoot day in .doc or .txt format. Final script will need to contain ALL content to be spoken, any text identified that will need to be highlighted in video, names and titles of ALL spokespersons, locations for asset display/inclusion and any specific edits or transitions requested. Where specific direction is not provided ACTIN will use its best judgment. Shoot scheduling is based upon availability and may not be available at preferred time/date. Requests made for changes not included in these specifications during the Roughcut or Finalcut review will be considered additional work and may incur added costs. FINAL Script due 48 hours prior to shoot. Shooting must be completed within 30-days of contract deposit. 

Non-Refundable Deposit required for booking. Video style selection must be made from available ACTIN PRO Video Styles prior to scheduled shoot time.

Runtime of Web Video

Typically a maximum runtime for a web video should be 3 minute max. Runtime is calculated from the initial frame of the video to the last frame of the video. Typically a web video will include an industry standard 10frame dip-from-black intro and 10 frame dip-to-black exit. Additionally most business web videos include a standard into logo bumper and closing logo bumper adding approximately 15 seconds to the total runtime.

Shooting Web Video in our Executive Green Screen Studio

If you are scheduled to have a web video shoot in our Executive Green Screen Studio, you will be responsible for having the appropriate talent at our location a minimum of 15 minutes PRIOR to the shoot time. Any delays in set-up or talent availability will count as shoot time. Shoot time estimates are based on ACTIN experience and may not reflect actual required and billable shoot times. Shooting time can vary widely based on talent selected. Requests for additional shoot time beyond the scheduled time may not be able to be accommodated. Studio shoots limited to two (2) people per shoot. 

Client is responsible for acquiring all Talent release forms and insuring that talent is prepared by reviewing all Talent Guidelines for the shoot well in advance of the shoot time. Cancellations within 72 hours of shoot time will incur studio fees for the scheduled time. Shoot time rescheduling subject to $75 fee.

Shooting Web Video at Your Location

Videographer on-location must be provided with a pre-selected shooting location upon arrival at your location. Location requirements include :

Minimum room size of 8' x 10'

Clear space for equipment set-up of 5' x 5'

Light control on all windows

No background noise

Available 110V Power outlet

Videographer will arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled shoot time for set-up. Shooting time begins at the scheduled time and continues till the shoot is completed and break-down can begin. Any delays in location set-up or talent availability will count as shoot time. Shoot time estimates are based on ACTIN experience and may not reflect actual required and billable shoot times. Shooting time can vary widely based on location and talent selected. On Location requests for additional shoot time beyond the scheduled time may not be able to be accommodated.

Additional Web Video Fees

Shooting time or re-shoot (beyond includedpackage time) $75 per 30 minutes increment.

Teleprompter: $199 per half day.

Scripting (1 hour consult/2 hour prep for 3 minute video) $199.

Make-up & Basic hair On-Location: $99 per hour (2 hour minimum additional set-up space required).

Stock images: $9.99 per High resolution royalty-free image

Stock footage: $49 per video clip (0:15 sec).

Professional voice-over: $125 (2 minute script).

Editing time (beyond included) $75 per 30 minute increment.

After hours shoot surcharge: Additional $49 per 30 minute increment (Before 8:00AM/After 6:00PM M-F, Weekends, Holidays)

Travel Time: $49 per 30 minute increment (Travel time applies to locations requiring travel outside the City of Chicago.)

Additional production charges will also be applied to assets not submitted according to the specifications defined herein.

Additional production time including location re-shoot, voice-over, editing and post production: $49 per 30 minute increment.

Delivery of your Web Video

Video post production is approximately two weeks following completion of shoot and receipt of all assets. Client will be provided with a link to an approval RoughCut copy of their video. Client may provide any corrections identified that differ from the FINAL approved script. Any client requests not included in or that differ from the approved FINAL script may incur additional production time and charges. It is the responsibility of the Client to closely view the Rough-Cut video and note any corrections to be made on the Rough-Cut. ACTIN will not be responsible for any errors, omissions or mistakes in videos not specifically noted in the Rough-Cut approval form.

The client will have a maximum of 10 business days to review and provide comments on each cut to ACTIN. If ACTIN does not receive any feedback after 10 days, the cut will be considered approved as shown for Final rendering and payment of any remaining costs will be due immediately. Any requests for changes or update after this time will be considered additional work and may incur additional costs. Failure of client to respond in a timely manner may result in additional charges and/or significant delays in the production schedule.

Media Hosting of your Web Video

ACTIN can provide Client with the standard iFrame or HTML embed code to link their video to their website or other location(s). Standard media hosting fees would apply to the additional bandwidth/video usage. Custom sizes and formats may also be provided at additional media fee charges. ACTIN shall not be held responsible for disputes involving color reproduction, resolution or stopped play of video files as those involve many factors outside of their control including individual visitor equipment, bandwidth and access speeds.

Requirements for Client Provided Assets

Clients may provide additional assets to be included in the finished video. ACTIN digital formats must be followed.

Photographic images used in Web Video:

Minimum resolution 300 dpi Size: 1920px x 1080px

Format: .ai, .jpg, .png, .psd, .gif, .raw

Vector illustration used in Web Video:

Format: .eps or .ai

Vector illustrations that require 3D extrusion and animation

Format: .eps or .ai files must be on a transparent background with alpha channel

Fonts used in your Web Video

Include all fonts, font families and font suitcases that are to be used in your video when supplying electronic materials. If not provided, ACTIN will substitute whichever font we feel is best suited to the video content. Request for font changes will incur additional post-production fees.

Video footage used in Web Video:

Size: 1920px x 1080px

Format: .mov, .mp4, .wmv

Images and video footage that are not 1920px x 1080px may be submitted but may need to be enlarged which will result in quality degradation.

Delivery of client provided assets:

Format CDROM, DVD, BluRay or direct digital upload.

Required Releases for Client Provided Assets:

ACTIN will not be responsible for incorrectly prepared files. It is the responsibility of the client to deliver all assets including scripts, images and logos to be used in the video prior to scheduling the video shoot. The client acknowledges that ALL assets provided are owned by them and/or they have the legal rights to use. The client further acknowledges that ALL persons appearing in provided assets and/or included in the video shoot have signed model releases on file.
